Ugoos firmware v.3.0.2.b for UT3, UM3, UT3S based on Android 5.1.1

OTA update and multi-window inside. Check this out. Since last Android 5.1.1 firmware release less than 3 weeks past, so now we have new Firmware version 3.0.2. We added some new features and raise up stability.

The first user-friendly feature is OTA update support: Rather simple and comprehensible feature let you be in touch with latest firmware updates for your Ugoos device. You can check updates by yourself or turn on auto-update and device do all the job by itself: offer you to download new firmware when there will be a new one on our servers. So since that version there is no need to use batch tool and reflash your device manually.

The second new feature is multi-window function. Powered by Rockchip for Android 5.1.1 this feature allows you to share a screen into few parts for different apps.Multi-window feature activated in main settings menu, display submenu.

After activating this feature we see that bottom bar changes its appearance. Now there is a button down left corner that allows you to access application menu. Bottom bar turns into a status bar and we can see opened applications and switch among them. All displayed apps get additional upper bar with 3 common and well known buttons: minimize to tray, extend and close. Extend button allows to choose 3 different sizes. Though some apps don’t let resize your window and turns into book orientation after activating this function.

Another interesting function is an advanced screenshotting feature. It runs only in multi-screen mode, after activation in settings menu. After activating screenshotting button appeared on the bottom bar. It allows you to choose 4 different screenshot feature:
- Static screenshot – makes a simple picture of a working space on the screen. In this mode you can customize screenshot area.
- Dynamic screenshot - allows you to choose a resizable window for making a small video in mp4 format or gif image. Additional settings let you customize frame rate and choose duration in seconds
- Whole screenshot – makes a picture of the whole screen with bars and context menus.
- Comment mode - allows to write some notes using air mouse right on the screen and save them with screenshot.

- Improved video playback in side players (MXPlayer now use hardware decoders for video playback)

Insert your USB/SD in device
Device should automatically recognize archieve and offer you to update

By default data partition is 4gb. If you need choose another parameter file (second field in AndroidTool) from root folder
If you need update your device without full reflash, uncheck "parameter" and "misc". Partitions size will not de updated

Fan: if your UT3 have internal fan it will be controlled automatically by temperature: now set 70C to fan on, 65 to fan off. In ugoos settings you may change fan mode
Root: by default Android not rooted. If you need it, install Root in ugoos settings: just su binary or binary with SuperSU app

Ugoos UT3/UT3S/UM3 new 2.0.8 Android 4.4 firmware ready to download!

Good day! We are ready to show you new 2.0.8 firmware for our RK3288 brand line. We always trying to fix current bugs and listen with attention your feedbacks and suggestions. So, let we announce details about  our new ROMs.



Change log (version 2.0.8) –  13 June 2015:
 -NEW-
  • Android: add network monitor - Settings -> Ugoos Settings -> Show network activity
  • Android: add Ethernet switcher (eth0, eth1 ...etc) for USB adapters - Settings -> Ethernet -> Interface
  • Settings: add Save button in static ip settings
  • Ugoos Settings: add checkbox for bluetooth prefix "FireFly-" for FireEasy control. Without it bluetooth connection will not work

  • Sound: XBMC noise problem fixed
  • Settings: fix Ethernet on/off switch logic

Ugoos UT3/UT3S/UM3 new 2.0.7 Android 4.4 firmware released!

How to flash unpacked firmware:

1. Inside: RKBatchTool - tool for reflashing, DriverAssitant - tool to install drivers and firmware parts (kernel, recovery, boot, etc..).
2. If it first time, you need to install drivers use DriverAssitant or manual when connecting device
3. Run RKBatchTool. Click on the “…”  button and choose file with firmware
4. Find recovery button on device, press and hold it.
5. Connect device to PC via USB OTG port (UT3: single port on right side, UM3: left port), and power on device (for UT3, UM3 will start when you connect USB cable)
6. PC will found new device and install drivers (or you need install it manually), then you may release recovery button.
7. If you did everything correctly and the driver is installed on your computer, you will see green light on one of the indicators. Now click the “Upgrade” button to the firmware of the device. At the end you will see a sign indicating a successful operation.

IMPORTANT

We are pleased to announce the release of the new firmware based on Android 4.4.2 for our devices based on RK3188 SOCs . In this firmware version fixes some serious bugs and adds some small but useful features.

How to flash packed firmware
1. Download firmware and unzip it use 7z, winrar, winzip. Inside: BatchTool - tool for reflashing, DriverAssitant - tool to install drivers and firmware image file.
2. If it first time, you need to install drivers use DriverAssitant or manual when connectiong device
3. Run BatchTool and open firmware image from folder
4. Find recovery button on device, press and hold it.
5. Connect device to PC via USB OTG port and power on device.
6. PC will found new device and install drivers (or you need install it manually), then you may release recovery button.
7. Press Restore button in BatchTool and wait end of process.

More detail information
In menu of settings was added tab "Ugoos setting". In this tab you can enable or disable the display the information of system load in Android status bar.Also in this tab you can change the preferred installation location for new apps and get access to the root on your device. 
Please will be careful when  you using root access. Careless actions can lead to partial or complete failure of the device. 

It was added support of firease app. This app is intended for remote control your TV-box from phone or tablet pc. For installing client apk your need open ugoos.net/remote on your mobile phone or tablet-pc manually  or scan QR-code from the settings menu. Client apk availible for Android and iOS.
